in respect of Change of Judge
Due to unforseen circumstances the judge at our forthcoming Championship Show will now be
JULIET COOPER – MERRYGARTH
She has owned, handled and shown all varieties of dachshunds since 1974
She first awarded CCs in standard longs in January 2003 at the SDA, since then she has awarded CCs in all 6 varieties on several occasions at both breed and general championship shows, She is due to do Smooths again later this year and longs 2026
This will be her 4th appointment for CCs
in standard wires
She has judged many breeds across all groups at open show level including all groups and several BIS.
She was secretary for the southwest hound and has served on the West of England Dachshund association on and off since 1986, She took over as secretary in 2018 running seminars, open and championship shows.
Lets give her a warm welcome and make sure the entries keep coming in.

All Judges at this show agree to abide by the following statement: “In assessing dogs, judges must penalise any features or exaggerations which they consider would be detrimental to the soundness, health and well being of the dog.” Jurisdiction and responsibilities: The Officers and Committee members of the society holding the licence are deemed responsible for organising and conducting the show safely and in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Kennel Club and agree to abide by and adopt any decision of the Board or any authority to whom the Board may delegate its powers subject to the conditions of Regulation F17. In so doing those appointed as officers and committee members accept that they are jointly and severally responsible for the organisation of the show and that this is a binding undertaking (vide Kennel Club General Show Regulations F4 and F5).
